I set all of my computers to get work from LODA again recently, and apart from the brief outage a few days ago, my computers have been happily returning work. Except for one, and I wasn't paying close attention so I didn't realize that it has been returning every task with invalid results after about 20-30 seconds of processing time.

My first thought was that GIT wasn't functioning properly, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times and still keep getting invalid results on this computer. Any suggestions to fix the problem?

I have stopped allowing new work on this computer so it doesn't keep returning invalid results.

I also had one machine with the same situation. I tried re-installing git, rebooting the machine, making sure I was on the latest version of BOINC. Nothing fixed it. Then I went into BOINC and reset the project, and that fixed it.

I thought I had tried that already, but I guess I just needed someone else to say it first. It seems to be working OK now. Thanks!

I am new to this LODA project. I have the problem with a "computation error" after 3-4 seconds of processing for many tasks on my main PC.

I did try the "Reset project" option and no effect.

At first, I did not have GIT installed.

I did install GIT and it seems to be working OK.

RTFM!

Rig-50 will no longer run LODA. All WUs fail. Tried project reset.

Similar problem here with Windows 11 PC. I have the latest version of BOINC and git version 2.47.0.windows.2

I reset the LODA project but that did not seem to help. Recent tasks for computer 11311:

Resetting LODA using BoincTasks does not work. You have to open the BOINC Manger on the offending computer and Reset LODA from the Projects tab.
For my headless computers I use NoMachine.

It does work in BOINCTasks. I have done it like a dozen or more times. BOINCTasks and BM just send the same boinccmd to the client

It may just be that I'm using BoincTasks JS 2.4.4, the Java version for Linux. It's a pale shadow of the Windoze version.

I've had a rash of these errors. From the log, it appears one of the input files is zero sized and is responsible for all failures.

We deleted the corrupt file from the server cache. The issue should be resolved now.

I have errors (after around 10 minutes, a computation error, with boinc reporting no CPU usage) on 3 of the 4 machines running LODA just now, and they all have git 2.49 (the latest).

https://boinc.loda-lang.org/loda/results.php?userid=34419

One gives:

<core_client_version>8.0.2</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>

14:08:14 (5280): called boinc_finish(195)

</stderr_txt>
]]>

The other two give:

<core_client_version>8.0.2</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>

<stderr_txt>

Strangely, the one which is working is the oldest machine (DDR2 era!) The DDR3 and DDR4 era machines fail. They are all running Windows 11. Two are on 21H2, 2 are on 24H2, this doesn't seem to be the cause, the cause is the CPU being newer than DDR2!

Hi Mr P Hucker,
I found this error in the LODA logs from your windows machine:

curl: (35) schannel: next InitializeSecurityContext failed: CRYPT_E_NO_REVOCATION_CHECK (0x80092012) - The revocation function was unable to check revocation for the certificate.

You need to fix this curl issue to make it work. If this is an older Windows version, maybe the root certificates are not up-to-date. If there should be updates available, you can try installing them and check if it helps.

It is up to date windows, looks like windows update isn't doing it's job very well.

Since I have zero clue about security certificates, I fed the error you gave me into AI, and it told me to get the latest version of CURL from a website which surprisingly also runs in DOS and AmigaOS! Anyone still got a working Amiga? However I couldn't see any installation package to get from there! When I asked the AI if I could forget about whatever curl is and get the windows certificates updated, it said yes they should come with windows update or you can get them from the microsoft website, however they also had no download, just instructions and requirements! WTF? So I asked for an easier way and the AI gave me a nice simple command to type into windows:

certutil -generateSSTFromWU roots.sst

This has updated something. Because when I ran it again it said nothing to do. I've closed and reopened Boinc so it knows I've done it, and detached and reattached the LODA project, it's trying a task now....
