I am submitting a bug report regarding the LODA project on the BOINC platform. The issue involves inconsistent and potentially fraudulent attribution of mined program records when a user changes their display name. Background: - I previously contributed to the LODA project via BOINC under the username "Lezhe Gao". During that period, I had no "mined programs". - Later, I switched to using the standalone LODA command-line tool (as described at https://loda-lang.org/install/) and registered with the name "Lezhe Gao (ORCiD: 0009-0001-5572-1994)". With the standalone version, I successfully mined several programs, which were correctly attributed to this new identity. - Today, I changed my BOINC account username to exactly "Lezhe Gao (ORCiD: 0009-0001-5572-1994)" – the same as my standalone identity. Observed Result: After changing the BOINC username, my profile on the LODA BOINC project now shows that I have 3 mined programs. These are almost certainly the programs I mined using the standalone tool, not through BOINC. The BOINC platform appears to have associated my standalone-mined programs with my BOINC account purely based on the matching username string. Expected Behavior: The record on https://boinc.loda-lang.org/loda/home.php should rely solely on BOINC results, instead of external sources. I kindly request that the development team investigate this issue and apply a fix to prevent name‑based record merging. Please let me know if you need further details or logs to reproduce the behavior. |
