I have recently been getting a lot of tasks that just don't stop until they time out or get an Exceeded Elapsed Time Limit error

If I find one now I abort it.

They waste huge amounts of cpu time, they take up a full core, they fail eventually anyway.

I have reset the project on all my computers but it is still happening.

They reach 100% and then keep running and can run up to 10 hours before the time limit steps in, the work units should be taking less than 4 hours.

Please can this be looked into and fixed?

It is annoying and makes me think about dropping this project.

Me to, I think more then 50% of the tasks are at around 4 hours of running at 100% (like normal for my system) but then stays in the running state up to 24+ hours. Sometimes they eventually complete (ready to report) but more often they fail (computation error).

For example:

But there are at least dozens more of each.

Same here. I am suspending the Project until this is fixed and aborting all current tasks that exhibit this behavior. I have better things for my computer's time.

We are looking into the problem

We found and fixed the issue. The fix is included in the new app version is 250804. Thanks for reporting it.

The last week or so I've been getting the "exceeded elapsed time limit" on tasks. I have aborted some tasks and then reset the project to see if if that helps but no I'm still getting the error. This is on two Windows machines running 10 & 11, using the 251201 version of the app.

I have had three tasks complete successfully over the same period.

Stopped receiving new work for a week, performed a project reset, then resumed work and all seems to be okay now. Hey ho!

I re-attach the project after some times.
