Looks like LODA needs about 1 GB RAM per WU. I see that if I load too many LODA WUs they slow down and estimate needing a day instead of a few hours to complete. Suspending some of the WUs speeds them back up.
Usually this is dealt with using an app_config file limiting the number of WUs for a project based on how many CPU threads one is running and how much RAM the computer has divided by some rule-of-thumb, e.g. 32 GB/(1.2 GB/WU)=26 WU.
Is BOINC capable of enforcing memory limitations so as to not run too many WUs?

Do you know much L3 cache these WUs use?
This has sometimes required a rule-of-thumb (e.g. MIP) to not run too many WUs that significantly slow down calculations.

We are using the BOINC wrapper app: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/WrapperApp
We would like to specify that 1GB is needed per task, but don't know how/where to do this.
