Still getting computation errors on all tasks (strangely on my better machines) - for example:

<core_client_version>8.2.4</core_client_version>

 (0xc3) - exit code 195 (0xc3)</message>

I have Git installed. This is a Ryzen 9 3900XT with the latest Windows 11.

On all my PCs I've had to occasionally do a project reset. Something gets corrupted on a task then every task after that error's out. A reset then it runs fine for awhile.

Not enough CPU usage will cause a task to cancel/abort itself. About every 30 min it seems like there's a check in the task where it aborts if there hasn't been enough processing.

I'll try this....
Is a reset the same as detaching and reattaching?

on my Ryzen 9 3900 XT running Windows 11 All the tasks are running for between 3m13s and 35m7s with no processor usage and then produce a computation error as above

looks like there's something up if it's going wrong on your and my computer with a different operating system

I see from your tasks some of your computers seem to work OK and some don't. in my case
and in yours, our newer computers seem more likely to cause errors.

I have no problems at all on my Intel machines Can you try running it on your Intel and see what that's like?

Anyone know what the error in my last post means? I've got a lot of computers not helping your project because they keep producing errors.....

After the update, these computers produce an error like below:

It is up to date windows, looks like windows update isn't doing it's job very well.

Since I have zero clue about security certificates, I fed the error you gave me into AI, and it told me to get the latest version of CURL from a website which surprisingly also runs in DOS and AmigaOS! Anyone still got a working Amiga? However I couldn't see any installation package to get from there! When I asked the AI if I could forget about whatever curl is and get the windows certificates updated, it said yes they should come with windows update or you can get them from the microsoft website, however they also had no download, just instructions and requirements! WTF? So I asked for an easier way and the AI gave me a nice simple command to type into windows:

certutil -generateSSTFromWU roots.sst

This has updated something. Because when I ran it again it said nothing to do. I've closed and reopened Boinc so it knows I've done it, and detached and reattached the LODA project, it's trying a task now....

I have errors (after around 10 minutes, a computation error, with boinc reporting no CPU usage) on 3 of the 4 machines running LODA just now, and they all have git 2.49 (the latest).

https://boinc.loda-lang.org/loda/results.php?userid=34419

One gives:

<core_client_version>8.0.2</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
The operating system cannot run (null).
 (0xc3) - exit code 195 (0xc3)</message>

14:08:14 (5280): called boinc_finish(195)

</stderr_txt>
]]>

The other two give:

<core_client_version>8.0.2</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
(unknown error) (0) - exit code 195 (0xc3)</message>
<stderr_txt>

Strangely, the one which is working is the oldest machine (DDR2 era!) The DDR3 and DDR4 era machines fail. They are all running Windows 11. Two are on 21H2, 2 are on 24H2, this doesn't seem to be the cause, the cause is the CPU being newer than DDR2!
8) Questions and Answers : Feature requests : Git requirement (Message 907)
Posted 19 Feb 2025 by Mr P Hucker
Post:
I didn't notice the requirement at first, and a third of my tasks failed, not sure if it was because of git. I've now installed it on all 10 PCs to see if it helps.
