A project reset corrects this issue. After the reset you need to rename zlib1-260314-windows-x86.dll to zlib1.dll. 🤞

It does not fix itself without manual intervention; once the application crashes on a WU, all subsequent WUs will go wrong until, in my case, I reset the project and start over, and then everything works, until the next time it happens again. Yes have tried that.

To fix if I did the following: 1) cd to BOINC project directory(C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\boinc.loda-lang.org_loda) 2) Copy libcurl-260125-windows-x86.dll to libcurl.dll 3) Copy zlib1-260125-windows-x86.dll to zlib1.dll After making these changes I pulled down new tasks and everything starting working normally. Modified the copy to take into account v260314 naming and created the new files. Hasn't worked so it's not that.

I have aborted some tasks and then reset the project to see if if that helps but no I'm still getting the error. Because of all the errors I've been generating BOINC, not LODA, is restricting my PC to only one LODA task a day, hence this message in the logfile: This computer has finished a daily quota of 1 tasks If I start returning completed tasks for LODA then the quota will be gradually raised. Anyway the one task I got today failed with the same error, it did take over a minute to do so rather than just a few seconds, but that isn't pertinent to the issue. But that's something for the LODA devs to look into, unless someone knows if that can be changed locally? Some override in the project preferences maybe? I'll leave the project running but reduce the priority, not that I'll be doing much with one task a day anyway. Cheers

I've reset the project, uninstalled git - rebooted. Then installed git,using the defaults this time, rebooted and restarted the project. I can't get any project files today, as I've exceeded a limit so will pick up later. 20) Questions and Answers : Getting started : 195 (0x000000C3) EXIT_CHILD_FAILED (Message 631) Posted 26 Oct 2022 by treaclepumpkin Post: I've been having a similar problem the last couple of weeks, not all tasks have been failing but the failure rate seems to be increasing. So, I'm using Windows 10, found that the System temp area (C:\WINDOWS\TEMP) wasn't writable but the User area (C:\Users\account\AppData\Local\Temp) was writable. BOINC runs, on my machine, as the logged in account so should be using the User temp area, I reset the permissions on the System area anyway. Restarted and still got the same issues, i.e. tasks failing within a few seconds with "exit code 195", see this task . I recall seeing a post about needing to install git, something I do use already, for LODA. So I checked that out. Seems my version wasn't the most recent but also required a re-install, so I've done that. Restarted and started running tasks since then and I still get the same error, tasks do seem to take longer to fail now. I'm running with the following: BOINC: 7.20.2 (x64) Windows: 10.0.19045 CPU: Core i5-12600KF GPU: Radeon RX580 (22.5.1 drivers) Anyone have any ideas please?
